Maldives Dive Report
MV Duke of York was a mix of comfort and style. The vessel was modern, clean, well-kept, spacious and the beds were crisp and neat. Food was excellent as they served fresh fish, vegetables, fruits, salads, soda, tea, coffee and spirits. We usually dined outside on the deck area which was also shaded so we enjoyed eating outside without the harshness of the sun or rain.
Cuisine was mostly Italian and Maldivian as I was told and every bit was great. The stay on the MV Duke of York liveaboard was good. We had a camera station, charging dock and a tender boat for our dives.
We usually woke up early and had a dive for an hour and back again to eat and wait for another dive. We had some great dives in the Maldives – the best was having manta rays swimming over us. We thank the dive masters and the dive director for showing us around the area and for sharing their years of experience with us. It was wonderful.
The crew was very nice. We had a couple celebrating their wedding anniversary and there was dancing inside the air-conditioned saloon and the crew joined us. The crew said we were one of the noisiest yet engaging guests they’ve ever had!
Also, there was a rebreather on board for guests who would like to avail of the offer. Nitrox was also for free. Internet wasn’t.
