This is one of the best dive sites in Komodo national park. It is the best place to dive with manta rays. From September to January, it is not rare to see up to 20 in one dive! Even if the manta rays are not around, the dive is still very good with many reef sharks, wrasses and schools of giant trevallies! Coral is also very beautiful with rich invertebrate life. The water can be sometimes a little bit cold and current quite strong, so always be careful. You can find here information about the budget and luxury Komodo Liveaboards.

This location is a Reef.

You can dive Manta Alley all year long. Access: from the Shore. See the map of Manta Alley on the right for the exact location.

2 dive logs in “Manta Alley

  1. Fantastic place. We dove with dozens and dozens of Mantas…ripping current. Lots of other stuff but the line-up of really really close-up Mantas was the amazing thing. Not a deep dive or very difficult except for current and need to hang onto something solid without damaging living coral.

  2. I might be confused with a dive site called Manta point I dove with a dive operator from Flores.
After Batu Bolong this was a shallow 9 meter deep dive over sand with a very strong current to battle against.
Once you reach the spot where the Manta rays fourage, you are expected not to move as long as the can see you and battle on as they turn their back towards you. After a couple of times we had 6-7 manta’s just circling above us. AMAZING.
