Gurahali Liveaboard Review

The 29 meters Gurahali is a liveaboard sailing in the Maldives. Built in 2008, it’s newest addition to the Voyage Maldives Fleet. Indeed, the Gurahali is the largest of it’s fleet and offers both diving and surfing cruises with the main visited atolls being North & South Male, Rasdhoo & Ari Atoll.

Boat Cabins & Layout

The Gurahali welcomes a maximum of 14 guests on-board, in 7 comfortable cabins. Indeed, there are 6 cabins with double-beds plus a top bunk bed and the other cabin displays side by side double and twin beds. Every cabin comes with air-conditioning and en-suite bathroom.

Gurahali’s On-board Facilities

The main and top deck of the dive and surf boat are spacious communal areas! Indeed, there’s plenty of room for the 14 guests so it never feels over busy or cramped. First, the indoor dining room and lounge area is the perfect place to hang out. Plus, it features a beautiful and fully stocked bar for your evening cocktails! Also, the salon is equipped with a BOSE sound system and TV/DVD entertainment unit.

Furthermore, you will be pleased as you walk outside. There’s space to hang out and admire the view of the Maldives just about anywhere on the ship. First, the cozy seating area at the bow lays in the shade but features an unforgettable view. Secondly, the very top deck is immense and features nothing but cushioned loungers and couches. It’s partially shaded with a big awning, so perfect for both readers and sun chasers!

Vessel Layout

The Gurahali features all the latest communication and navigation equipment. Plus, the safety of everyone is assured with more than enough related equipment and all it take for the safe practice of diving and surfing. With a cruising speed of 9 knots and a very stable layout, the Gurahali promises comfortable voyages through the atolls.

Scuba Diving with the Gurahali

The Maldives are known for 2 things, beside picturesque atolls… it’s surfing and diving. The Gurahali offers both types of cruises for you to choose from. Other activities offered include night fishing, snorkeling, BBQ on desert island, cultural tours and island hopping tours. Otherwise, when diving cruises are ordered, the Voyages Fleet provides a dhoni and a professional and experienced dive master & crew to lead the scuba diving operation!
