MV Pindito dive boat review

MV Pindito is the only liveaboard vessel operating and touring Raja Ampat for more than 2 decades. Because of that, the liveaboard crew is one of the best and most knowledgeable in Indonesia. This is expected since this liveaboard was once voted Tauchen Magazine’s Best Liveaboard of the Year.

Aside from diving, Pindito also offers land excursions and the like. Pindito serves Indonesian, American and Chinese main meal dishes. Another perk! Coffee, tea, soft drinks, drinking water, fruit, afternoon snacks and cakes, beer and spirits are all provided free of charge! So every buck you spend on this Papua liveaboard is all worth it.

Customer Review:

“I am so grateful for the opportunity of travelling with MV Pindito for 11 days last year. It was one of the most memorable and inciting moments in my life as a SCUBA diver! The cruise operator and owner, was so accommodating and hospitable.
The dive guides were experienced and shared their vast knowledge about Raja Ampat and the gorgeous dive sites, and in spotting attractive nudibranches and tiny pygmy seahorses. The stunning underwater scenery in Raja Ampat keeps flashing in my mind. I couldn’t stop thinking about the captivating corals, reef fishes, and other stunning sea creatures.  I enjoyed our wall diving very much. I saw an alluring array of corals, sponges and different pieces of fish.  Multitude groups of trevallies, batfish, and barracudas were also entertaining to watch.  Seeing Epaulette Shark which is endemic to Raja Ampat and seven manta rays orbiting around us give me the chills. I was so mesmerized that I almost freeze in the spot.
Pindito is run by a professional team who willingly looks out for the guests and make sure that they attend to our needs. Their seamless quality customer service is what makes the liveaboard exists for more than 2 decades. Wow!  I admire the impressive professionalism exhibited from the management down to the Indonesian and European crew. Their camaraderie was also inspiring. I wish my co-workers are like them! Haha. I’m really rooting for their superb customer service. Moreover, I also enjoyed feasting on whatever meals, dishes or snacks they gave me. All the food tasted so good! They also helped us in setting up our gear before diving and took care of them after each dive.
I was cruising with 15 other divers coming from different parts of the world. It was a very pleasant experience for me. I got to know other divers. Thanks to Pindito. We had exhilarating moments in and out of the water. I will surely miss the chitchats and the happy sharing not only about our diving getaways but also our personal lives as well!
Thank you, Pindito for the good memories!” Jane, UK.

4 liveaboard reviews for “MV Pindito”

  1. Our second diving escapade in Raja ampat proved to be so much better, and more riveting! The diversity of marine life in this place is really remarkable. This is the first time that I boarded Pindito, and it was a wonderful liveaboard experience. I liked the layout of the boat. The cabins were also impeccably clean and organized. The dive deck has massive space. I was given a large box for my gear, in which I can keep for the entire trip. When it was my time to dive, the crew took my gear to the speed boat. You don’t need to worry about your gear for they were very good in handling any equipment. After diving, they also assisted me in bringing my gear back to the deck. I really appreciated it. Sometimes, long hours of diving could be physically tiring for woman, like me.
In addition, the crew and staff of MV Pindito were smiling, friendly and thoughtful. They catered to our every whim that I felt they’re spoiling us too much! Haha. The dive team was also cognizant and informative. We gathered a lot of facts and data from them that were very important to enhance our diving experience. And did I mention that the local Indonesian cuisine was mind-blowing? Yes! The chef was talented. He can creatively cook a lot of dishes.
Another thing that I’m grateful about Pindito is that they really care for their customers. Making things easier and more convenient for their guests is their utmost priority. On the day that we’re about to leave, the hard-working dive guides, Johannes and Rafael, took our luggage to the Sorong airport and checked in, on behalf of us. It really saved us a lot of time. So instead of waiting around and getting bored in the airport, I was able to stay on the dive boat and spent the last few hours taking in the beauty of Raja Ampat, one last time. Thanks Edi, for sharing your great liveaboard, Pindito, with us and for making our diving adventure fun and awesome!

  2. You really make it seem so easy with your presentation but I
find this topic to be actually something that I think I would never understand.
It seems too complex and very broad for me. I’m looking forward for your next post,
I’ll try to get the hang of it!

  3. Raja Ampat is an incredible destination! I felt like a brand new diver there, you know back when you had no idea which was what? The marine bio-diversity is limitless. I saw my first hammerhead shark, observed dozens of manta rays dancing together, saw countless sea horses and many new kind of nudibranchs. Forget about the 500 previous dives, the 30 dives I had there were the most fabulous ever. Okay, I have to admit that a few were more challenging. The current can be harsh sometimes but the guides are great, they know the area and they warn you and give you tips so you can be efficient underwater. It was perfect! Thank you to the Pindito team for the awesome journey

  4. My husband and I recently returned from another fantastic trip on Pindito. This was our third time on board and we have already booked a fourth trip. Always consummate professionals, the Pindito team can be relied upon to make your experience a fantastic, easy and fun one. Nothing is ever too hard, they bend over backwards to make life easy and comfortable. Your gear is always ready, well looked after and where it needs to be. The food is amazing too. The captain always makes safety his priority which means sometimes plans have to change due to unforeseeable weather but there is always a great alternative available, such is the amazing underwater diversity of Indonesia. Love the boat, can’t wait to get back there.
