Yapak is the most famous dive site in Boracay Island and one of the best spots in the whole of the Philippines. Yapak is actually made up of 4 different unique spots. Yapak 2 is the most popular one. It consists of 2 deep walls featuring beautiful coral with huge gorgonian sea fans and a teeming marine life. It is actually a very good place to observe big fishes like Pelagic Fishes such as Barracudas, Giant Trevallies and Dogtooth Tunas. You can also observe Grey Reef Sharks patrolling the area and Whitetip Reef Sharks resting. If you are lucky, you might even catch a glimpse of a Hammerhead Shark or a Manta Ray!
Yapak dive site is reserved to experienced divers only because of the depth and the often strong current in the area. Indeed the 2 walls range from 30m to 60m deep! To reach Yapak Wall, you start by a negative entry into the blue and reach the top of the wall at 32m deep. It is quite an impressive dive!
It takes about 15min to go there by boat from Boracay.

2 dive logs in “Yapak”

  1. Dove it two days ago and saw four white tip reef sharks swimming together along the 40/45m wall !!!

Fish life is absolutely amazing and often eagle rays give show flying above the wall.

  2. one of the top ten dive spots in the Philippines, four deep walls starting at 32m to 36m at the top and plunging down past 100m, A bad dive here is still a good dive, the best in my opinion is Yapak two followed by Yapak One. Guaranteed sharks, white Tips , grey Reefs , occasional Silvertips and not so common now Hammerheads. other big fish are tuna, marbe rays, eagle rays, devil rays, barracuda,Trevally, Tuna, Tarpon and sweetlips with masses of Banner fish, Red tooth Triggers and Butterfly fish. The crals on the wall are in superb condition with caves and Chimneys to explore, Don’t forget the macro, very good here, with Pigmy seahorses, Octopus and Nudis to be found every dive.
If you can only choose one dive on yapak, make sure you Dive Yapak 2
