Expensive, and Luxury!

MV Blue Force One dive boat review

When it comes to one of the most spacious, luxurious and salubrious ways to spend time cruising the magnificent waters of the Indian Ocean, MV Blue Force One must be near the very top of the tree.

The Maldives. It’s blue waters and white sand beaches give way to rich ocean waters. Abundant marine life is at every turn and the waters are always warm. For divers, the sheer diversity of aquatic life on offer in the Maldives is close to unbeatable. Everything is on offer from the prettiest pipe-fish to large pelagic life.

You can check the availability and prices for this Boat here.

Blue Force one is owned by Blue Force Diving. One of the largest and most impressive diving safari vessels in the region, the Blue Force One is 42m long and 12m in beam. Despite her imposing size, luxury is a key word with this safari and Blue Force One is fitted to accommodate only 20 guests in a comfortable surroundings putting her in a peer group with MV Carpe Vita and MV Princess Handy. Although not quite a decadent as MV Mosaic.

The cabins are superb. With modern décor and a light, airy feel, you may be mistaken for feeling that you’re staying in a prestige hotel and not at sea.

Outside the cabins there is more than ample space to relax. The MV Blue Force One has a dedicated saloon or ‘living room’, complete with an enormous 65inch TV and film system. There is music available and, for those wanting to party, there is a disco room with karaoke.

If you’re in more of a relaxing mood there is a Spa onboard (with supplement) where you unwind with a steam bath, sauna or a gentle massage.

MV Blue Force One Dhoni

Or if a cheeky drink is more your thing, there the “The One” bar on the upper deck.

Blue Force One features 3 areas where you can soak up the sunshine and has not one, but two Jacuzzis. One at the bow and one at the stern of the vessel.

Scuba Diving Onboard MV Blue Force One

The diving is all conducted from an accompanying Dhoni and the diving facilities are to the highest standard. Also included in the package is free nitrox via the vessel’s membrane compressor; which is a huge benefit on longer dives to extend your bottom time and feel fresher.

    Conclusion : à éviter

  3. We booked one of the master cabins (window + large bathroom); the tub in the bathroom is a waste of space as you will never use it (and the bathroom smells like a bilge). The bed is hard as a rock and the window does not open; the AC in the room also does not work well and is VERY loud. Enough of the room (a disappointment).
The boat its self … very nice .. but showing signs of wear.
Itinerary – average, slow day on Saturday (arrival).. boats sits in the harbor all day; and final day you are dropped at 7 am. If you have a late flight make sure you know about the day hotel (which I recommend) .. there will be no assistance once dropped (literally).
    Food – great!
Diving – great! varied with plenty of strong currents (our dive guide was just OK); dive schedule is up at 6 am diving by 6:30 am! with 4 dives/day using Nitrox; Know your dive computer … there will be little to no assistance.
Staff – OK .. tend to keep to them selves; not terribly friendly.
Bar – OK .. beware if smokers on board, as limited seating in the bar area will result in a smokers zone. We were on board with mostly smokers from Spain.
Would I book on Blue Force again? probably not…

    • Hi Tracey!
I simply want to thank you for your review, very detailed and useful! I’m sorry you did not have a “top notch” stay, but I’m glad the diving was great as it should be!

      Safe bubbles, always!
