Outstanding! 20m and more

Dive depth Shallow depth, 0-10m

Bias Tugel dive site located in Padang Bai is a very nice coral plateau. It is quite shallow at only around 10 m deep. It is a good site for training diving courses in Bali or for macro photography. Is is possible to dive much deeper around 30 to 40 m deep but currents can tricky and strong, so be careful!

Macro observation and photography spot. This location is a Reef. This is great place for spotting and diving with Sharks!

You can dive Bias Tugel all year long. Access: from the Shore. See the map of Bias Tugel on the right for the exact location.

One Dive Log in “Bias Tugel”

  1. This is one of my personal favourite dive sites in Padang Bai. The corals are absolutely stunning in shallow waters from 3m to 15m with intact coral tables, staghorn corals and soft corals. Large pharaoh cuttlefish laying eggs or disputing territory, razorfish hovering above the corals, green turtles grazing and marbled rays scanning through the sandy patches can be frequently spotted in this area. A school of juvenile chevron barracuda also visits this area.
There is a large coral bommie at 15m ornate with gorgonian sea fans and soft corals. I have spotted up to 5 leaf scorpionfish of different colours and a couple of frogfish here on several occasions. Right next to the coral bommie lies a cleaning station where king mackerels and dogtooth tunas often come to rest close to the reef.
Going deeper the great coral cover leaves room to a more sandy area with barrel sponges, gorgonian seafans and a few soft corals. This is macro territory. Bargibanti pygmy seahorse, siagiani squat lobsters, nudibranches and orangutan crabs can frequestly be spotted by experienced dive guides. A large shoal of king barracudas (<50cm) seem to enjoy sheltering close to the reef in this area. Blacktip reef sharks also commute through here at times and we have even spotted mola-molas oceanic sunfish on more lucky dives… Keep your eyes open!
