The canyon is not an easy dive site and you must be at least open water advanced or CMAS 2 stars to dive there. The canyon is shaped like an amphitheatre and is a perfect place to check out the superb fish life of Bali. You will have good chances of spotting whitetip reef sharks and large pelagic fishes. If you get lucky during the right season (August to October) you can even see the world famous Mola Mola. Enjoy the thrill! But be careful with the current, it can be strong and downward so always stay close to your divemaster!
You can dive Gili Tepekong, The Canyon all year long. Access: from the Shore. See the map of Gili Tepekong, The Canyon on the right for the exact location.

Diving Reviews for this region
Candidasa
It is all about action! Big pelagic fishes, hunting action in the current, and many Sharks! Regular seeing of Hammerhead Sharks and Mola Mola!
Dove it in 1998 and did everything wrong. This is not a forgiving dive. The current is indeed DOWN. Had to make an emergency ascent from depth by being inattentive. No harm, no foul but very scary. … beautiful, though. Great swim-throughs!
