Barracuda point is quite simply one of the top 5 dive sites of the world, making it the most popular dive spot in Sipadan. There is a huge shoal of thousands of barracudas often making a tornado and darkening the sun! A must do for any underwater photographer! You can also see bumphead parrotfish, dozens of turtles and reef sharks patrolling the area. Sometimes there is also hammerhead sharks, so keep looking to the blue! The site is composed by a steep wall going down to 22 m deep often with strong currents. After your nice drift you finish your dive in the shallow in the coral garden ;-) Enjoy this incredible dive site!

Barracuda Point is sometimes classified as a Drift dive. This location is a Reef. This is great place for spotting and diving with Sharks! Ready to swim around this Wall structure?

You can dive Barracuda Point all year long. Access: from the Shore. See the map of Barracuda Point on the right for the exact location.

  1. The house reef is fantastic. I highly suggest Baracuda point and the Hanging Garden dives aswell.

We saw everything at 15 meters.

    • You been to Palau? The place is amazing! I brought my friend from Alaska to Palau. He was so amazed on how spectacular the experience was. Even just crusing on the boat he was seeing fish because the water was so clear.

      Thanks,

      Lee

  2. We did Sipadan 2 days in a row and wished we had stay longer had we known it was going to be that good. I’m not an experience diver but this was so comfortable. Lots of green turtles, white and black tips sharks, humper head, barracudas, large school of jacks and the most beautiful angle fish, ho and so much more! I go back again in a heart beat when I pay off this one!

  3. I dived there on three week long trips in the late 1900’s/early 2000’s. Sipadan is the best diving location I ever did and I’ve been to over 25 great dive locations in the world.

  4. No doubt the best dive site in the world. The Barracuda Tornado, School of Jack Fish, Sea turtles everywhere, black and white tip sharks!

  5. You been to Palau? The place is amazing! I brought my friend from Alaska to Palau. He was so amazed on how spectacular the experience was. Even just crusing on the boat he was seeing fish because the water was so clear.

    Thanks,

    Lee
