Shark Cave is just awesome and is one of the best dive sites in Layang Layang! It is located not far from the D’wall diving site. At 25 m down, there is the entrance to a small cave where you can observe many different species of sharks, mostly whitetip reef sharks resting below. You also have the chance of spotting Grey reef sharks, Leopard Sharks, Nurse Sharks and the famous Hammerheads schooling! There are also all of the usual pelagic fishes cruising by in the blue like the wonderful Giant Trevally or a gliding Manta Ray! For macro lovers, you may find along the wall a frog fish hiding in the coral and be able to admire the numerous barrel sponges. As the dive site is pretty deep, keep an eye on your no deco time and finish your dive in the shallow coral garden. Enjoy this incredible Layang Layang diving site!
Best time to dive: the ideal period to plan holidays here isFebruary to April. Access: from the Shore. See the map of Sharks Cave on the right for the exact location.
