Dogtooth Lair dive site is located near the eastern point of Layang Layang Island. It is slightly similar to The Point. This dive site is named after the large shoals of dogtooth tuna swimming around, if they are not there, you can still check out the schooling barracudas or the sleeping whitetip Reef Shark. The site is composed of a sandy slope going down with beautiful coral formations before becoming a steep wall going down to 2000 m deep! You might have the chance to see schooling Hammerhead Sharks here too but it is not the best spot in Layang Layang for them. Like all the sites in Layang Layang, you can finish your dive in the shallow coral garden and deco while gazing at the superb reef fishes and coral formations. The current is usually not an issue on this spot.
Best time to dive: the ideal period to plan holidays here isFebruary to April. Access: from the Shore. See the map of Dogtooth Lair on the right for the exact location.
