MV Leo dive boat review

The MV Leo is the sister vessel to the MV Virgo and MV Orion, which form the well-known Constellation Fleet operating in the Maldives.

Onboard the MV Leo diving boat you’re assured a warm welcome and all the facilities you may require for an excellent dive safari around the best Maldives diving sites.

You can check out the availability and prices for this Boat here.

Boat Layout

At 35m long and 10m beam, the MV Leo is directly comparable with the M/V Honours Legacy, M/V Fun Azul and M/Y Conte Max in size and facilties.

MV Leo liveaboard has 3 deck levels which, over 10 cabins, accommodate 20 guests.

Cabins

There are 2 double cabins and 6 twin cabins on the lower deck. Meanwhile, upstairs on the upper deck, there is 1 executive suite complete with bathtub/Jacuzzi.

In addition, on the upper deck you will also find a further double cabin. Each cabin is finished and furnished with the relaxed and airy ambiance of a Maldivian resort. Simply and comfortable. Each cabin is en-suite with individual air-conditioning, TV and DVD player, a safe for any valuables, a mini bar and dryer.leo-liveaboard-layout

Scuba diving is conducted from the supporting 19m diving dhoni. The dhoni is more maneuverable and allows MV Leo’s dhoni crew comprising 3 staff to take you to the most remote and beautiful underwater reefs.

While you are scuba diving, the dhoni remains on stand-by to pick you up when you surface at the end of your safety stops. In addition to all the diving equipment, the dhoni houses emergency O2, 30 scuba tanks with NITROX available via two compressors.

Leo liveaboard is also ‘rebreather-friendly’; able to support Poseidon MKVI, AP vision and manual Megalodon units for those bubble-free divers looking to get closer to some of the marine life.

One of the positive features of the Leo diving boat is it’s choice of itineraries. Options available include the 8 day ‘Best of Maldives’, the 8 day ‘Manta Madness’ and, for those looking for a longer safari, the 10 night ‘Deep South’ tour.

With regard to budgeting for this vessel, MV Leo pricing for a 7 night trip of ranges from USD1,750-2,744 depending on the season and accommodation.
