The Maldives are a fantastic diving destination, promising picturesque landscapes and incredible underwater adventures. Known to be quite an expensive destination, they reward a little careful planning: compare the whole holiday, not just the cabin fare.

Emperor Voyager
Emperor Voyager is a practical choice for divers who prefer a smaller guest group to a large resort-style yacht. Compare the exact cabin and departure rather than assuming the oldest published starting price is still available.
Ask for the same-sex cabin-share arrangement or a private-cabin quote; a double bed supplement is not a private-cabin supplement.

Sachika
Top Class Cruising operates Sachika on Maldives diving cruises. Its ten cabins give a choice between lower-deck accommodation and upper-deck suites. Compare the final package rather than treating the old EUR 1,574 fare as a current starting price.
Request a quote stating shared berth or sole occupancy and the assigned cabin category. An upper-deck Suite can cost more without providing a different diving itinerary.

Blue Force One
Blue Force One suits travellers who put outdoor living and a sea-view cabin high on their wish list. The current operator lists 24 guests in 12 cabins, replacing this review’s old 20-guest, 10-cabin description.
The observed departure quoted a 70% supplement for sole occupancy. A private-cabin price is not the same as one berth in a shared cabin.

Emperor Voyager is a useful starting point for a diving-focused quote. Sachika can combine comfortable accommodation with a competitive departure offer, while a discounted Blue Force One cabin is worth comparing if your dates are flexible. These are options to price, not a cheapest-to-dearest ranking.

Widen the value shortlist
Also compare Princess Dhonkamana, Horizon 3, Conte Max, Amba. Match the final payable amount and trip duration: Amba’s observed late-2026 sailings were 11 nights, while many Central Atolls offers run for seven. A promotion is only useful if the cabin, itinerary and flights fit your plans.
What will the holiday really cost?
Compare the final payable cruise amount before being won over by a headline fare. The same boat may offer better value on one date and cost more on another.

Blue Force One was quoted at EUR 1,767 per person for a shared Deluxe cabin on 17–24 October 2026 (7 nights, Malé–Malé), checked 6 October. This promotional fare excludes any applicable departure-specific extras. It cannot establish the cheapest boat for November, a suite or a solo traveller.
Where it pays to save
Start with a shared cabin and a central-atoll itinerary if they suit your needs. Compare an included-Nitrox package with the price of adding fills elsewhere. Keep a little date flexibility, but compare the flight cost before chasing a cruise discount. A lower-deck cabin can save money without changing the dive itinerary; check the bed arrangement and portholes before committing.
Where a lower fare can mislead
A short trip can still require the same long-haul flight, and a remote itinerary may need domestic flights at both ends. For solo travel, compare the actual share policy and private-occupancy supplement. Do not add an advertised tax or fee twice if your quotation already includes it.

- Central Atolls (C): Malé → South Malé → Vaavu → South Ari → North Ari → Rasdhoo → Malé.

Budgeting for a non-diving companion
A non-diver still needs a paid berth, and a lower fare is operator-specific. Emperor Maldives welcomes non-divers, but its current FAQ does not publish a fixed companion rate: request the actual fare and any paid private snorkeling guide before comparing the total with an island stay. Snorkeling depends on guide availability and suitable conditions, so budget for a holiday your companion will enjoy even during time aboard.
A confirmed discount example: Carpe Diem Maldives publishes a 10% non-diver discount for Carpe Diem, Carpe Vita and Carpe Novo, not combinable with its other discounts and arranged directly with the operator. Ask which quoted fare components qualify and obtain the final per-person total for your cabin, occupancy and 7- or 10-night departure; do not apply 10% to flights, taxes or every extra yourself. The published package includes a beach BBQ only when weather and government permission allow; snorkeling and private-charter activities need departure-specific confirmation. Compare two complete quotes with the same dates, cabin occupancy and duration, including snorkeling equipment, shore outings and transfers. A useful checklist before the deposit
- Get matching written quotes for your dates and cabin occupancy.
- Check every compulsory charge and its currency.
- Confirm your experience is suitable for that itinerary.
- Read cancellation terms, transfer details and final-payment dates.
- Check the last-dive and flight timing with the operator.
What happened to the older budget list?
The earlier guide included Stingray, Eagle Ray, Sharifa, Monsoon, Sheena and Amba. Their old prices are not evidence of a current offer. Before booking any of them, obtain a current operator schedule and itemised quote; omission from this shortlist does not mean the boat has stopped operating.

Which boat is cheapest?
There is no reliable permanent winner. Compare matching dates and a complete quote including mandatory extras, sharing arrangements and travel costs.
Is Nitrox worth comparing in the price?
Yes. Ask whether it is included, charged per fill or sold as a package, and whether your certification is required for the chosen itinerary.
Should I compare prices per night?
Use the same dates, cabin occupancy, currency and route first. Dividing a fare by nights is useful, but it does not tell you how many diving days you receive.
Are flights and hotels included?
Do not assume so. Add international flights, any domestic legs, pre/post-cruise nights, airport transfers and your insurance to the quoted cruise total.
Can a beginner join?
Send the operator your qualification, logged dives and date of your most recent dive. Acceptance depends on the actual route. A higher cabin price does not make current-exposed sites easier.
Can a non-diving partner come?
Ask what is actually scheduled for non-divers: guided snorkeling, island visits, spa appointments and rest time differ by boat and itinerary.
How do I choose the season?
Choose your route and wildlife priorities together. The diving guide explains seasonal tendencies; no operator can guarantee a manta ray or whale shark encounter.
