Seafari Explorer 2: the vessel
Seafari lists a wooden yacht built in 2016, measuring 40 × 10 m, with capacity for 26 guests and eight crew. Its specifications distinguish a 2022 renovation from a 2024 dry dock; the introduction also mentions refurbishment in 2020. These are different milestones, not interchangeable build dates.
Which cabin should you book?

Cabins have air-conditioning and private bathrooms. Specify whether you need separate beds, a double, a view or sole occupancy; a category name alone does not settle those details.
Life aboard Seafari Explorer 2
On the main deck, you will find a bright indoor living room with a television, a useful place to watch your diving pictures. The upper deck features a large outdoor lounge with a bar, and the sky deck offers space to relax between dives.
Meals aboard Seafari Explorer 2
The boat lists buffet-style Western and Maldivian food, with beer and wine available. Ask which drinks are included and send dietary requirements before booking. A beach barbecue may feature on the programme, but should not be treated as a fixed promise regardless of weather.
Travelling with a non-diver on Seafari Explorer 2?
Confirm a non-diving place directly for Seafari Explorer 2 and the chosen departure. A current boat-specific acceptance policy and companion fare have not been established here. Ask whether the booking is a shared cruise berth or a whole-yacht charter, and obtain the price for your dates, duration, cabin and occupancy, including taxes and transfers. Skipping dives does not by itself establish a discount.
Request a practical programme for the companion: which guided snorkeling sessions or island excursions are actually planned, whether equipment and guidance are included, and which activities cost extra. Confirm age or supervision conditions where relevant. A diving or surfing charter may leave a non-participating guest aboard for substantial periods; do not assume that a tender, sundeck or an old excursion description guarantees daily outings.
Diving, routes and experience
The 2025/26 seven-night operator guide specifies Advanced Open Water or CMAS level 2 plus 50 logged dives. Bring certification, logbook and dive insurance; complete the medical questionnaire before travel. The advertised package is 16 dives, including one night dive, with no-decompression diving to a maximum of 30 m. Conditions may change the programme.
Diving is supported by a separate 24 m dhoni. The guide lists 12 L tanks and weights, and free Nitrox 32% for appropriately qualified divers. Reserve rental sizes in advance.
Check the itinerary attached to your departure. Malé–Malé routes avoid the domestic-flight logistics of many southern trips. Currents can change the site order and wildlife sightings are never guaranteed. See the Maldives diving guide for seasons and atolls.
Airport transfers and the last day
The seven-night guide lists Malé airport pickups at 10:00, 12:00 and 15:00, and a final-day airport transfer after breakfast at 07:00. Confirm these with your flight details; late departures may need a day room. Ask when the last dive and return to Malé occur before arranging flights.

Seafari’s cabin listing totals 14, its technical table says 13, and LiveAboard.com describes 12. Request a current deck plan and assigned room number before paying.
Can I travel solo?
Request a written shared-berth or sole-occupancy quote. Ask specifically about the dedicated single category.
Is the listed fare my full holiday cost?
No. Add all mandatory cruise extras and your travel costs. Promotions and remaining cabin spaces can change.
What compulsory extras should I check?
Seafari’s supplement table lists USD 12 per night Green Tax and USD 100 service charge for seven nights: USD 84 + USD 100 = USD 184 per person beyond the fare if not already included. Its overview still shows a conflicting USD 6 daily tax. Obtain the applicable total in writing; the trip guide asks for cash for these charges.
Is this seven-night trip suitable for a newly qualified diver?
The operator guide requires an advanced qualification and 50 logged dives. Send your certification and experience to the operator before booking; a private guide does not automatically waive entry requirements.

Sea Coral
Sea Coral is a small Maldives charter boat with three cabins, suited to groups who prefer a simple vessel to a large liveaboard. Voyages still lists it in its fleet; a specific scuba departure needs a separate quotation.
