MV Putri Papua dive boat review

The Putri Papua is a 26 meters wooden schooner operating as a liveaboard in Indonesia. Indeed, the member of the Grand Komodo Fleet offers scuba diving cruises concentrating on the best Indonesian destinations such as Raja Ampat, Misool, Triton and Cenderawasih.

.

Boat Cabins & Layout

The Putri Papua is a smaller traditional schooner and welcomes maximum of 9 guest. Indeed, with only 5 cabins on-board, it’s a rather private scuba diving cruise that they offer. Very affordable and promising uncrowded diving, the Putri Papua makes a great floating hotel. More specifically, the cabins all have a private en-suite bathroom and air-conditioning.

Putri Papua’s On-board Facilities

The main communal area on the Putri Papua is located on the main deck and is a combined lounge and dining room. There’s plenty of space of 10 people to comfortably sit and enjoy there freshly prepared meals. Plus, the salon is equipped with an audio/video entertainment system for your convenience. Also, you will find the dedicated camera station pretty handy so charge your material and work on our footage.

Furthermore, walk outside and you will find a large sundeck area. Indeed, the area is partly shaded and features plenty of cozy seating options. You can use this area to soak in the sun rays, do some yoga or simply enjoy the ever-changing views of Raja Ampat, Indonesia.

.

Vessel Layout

The Putri Papua was built, like the rest of the Grand Komodo Fleet, following the traditional Indonesian standards. Indeed, it’s all in quality wood and offers a smooth cruising. The Putri Papua has many sister ships and she’s among the smallest and definitely one of the less crowded. It can’t quite compare to the bigger Temu Kira and Raja Ampat Explorer, which respectively host 12 and 14 guests. On the other hand, the Putri Papua is slightly bigger than the Tarata and yet welcomes les divers on-board.

Scuba Diving with the Putri Papua

The dive vessel has a highly experienced crew on-board which is used to dive everywhere in Indonesia. Of course, the Putri Papua features all the modern navigation and safety technologies. Plus, there’s a dedicated tender boat to help in the scuba diving operation. You’ll always be ready to get right to the action packed waters! Finally, equipment can be rented with them and on-board they have the essentials such as tanks, weights, and belts.
