MY Borneo Explorer dive boat review

The 27 meters MY Borneo Explorer is a liveaboard offering scuba diving and sightseeing cruises in the Philippines. The steel hulled vessel was built in 1986 and has been kept up to date ever since.

.

Boat Cabins & Layout

The Borneo Explorer is fully air-conditioned on the inside and offers 10 comfortable cabins for a maximum of 19 guests. The rooms have either two twin beds or one double and one twin bed, as pictured below. Plus, each cabin features it’s own ensuite bathroom with hot water shower.

Furthermore, the cabins as well as the main areas on the Borneo Explorer all feature huge windows. Indeed, that’s the reason why the fleet says it’s their sightseeing vessel… you get a great view of the Philippines at all times!

Borneo Explorer’s on-board facilities

The dive boat presents a large display on the inside with a spacious lounge and dining area. Indeed, you’ll find plenty of cozy space where you can hang out and use the entertainment system provided on-board. Moreover, there’s an extensive media library with book, DVD and board games to choose from.

Furthermore, if you head outside, you’ll find plenty of space where to enjoy the fresh air and the view. The 50 square meters sundeck is definitely the divers favorite spot where to chill between dives!

Vessel Layout

The Borneo Explorer is part the Expedition Liveaboard Fleet, which offers itineraries on the Tubbataha reef as well as apo/coron region. The dive vessel has many sisterships but not all are liveaboards. The Stella Maris is one it’s fellow liveaboard ship.
