Hin Daeng is one of the best dive sites in all of Thailand! It is very famous for the great chance of spotting giant Manta Rays. It is not far from other world class dive sites such as Hin Muang. Apart from Manta Rays, the marine life is excellent with Grey reef Sharks and Leopard sharks. If you are very lucky you can also spot a Whale Shark! The current can be strong so it is better to be an advanced diver here. The site is located about 50 km south of Ko Lanta (2 hours by boat) or 1 hour 20 minutes by speedboat from Koh Phi Phi. It is possible to go there on a day trip or during a liveaboard. The spot is also called Red Rock.
This is a
Cave diving spot, make sure you have all required certifications. Hin Daeng is sometimes classified as a
Drift dive. This location is a Reef. This is great place for spotting and
diving with Sharks! Ready to swim around this
Wall structure?
You can dive Hin Daeng all year long. Access: from the Shore. See the map of Hin Daeng on the right for the exact location.

I dived here, really enjoyed the huge quantities of fauna and the topography was also very interesting. My liveaboard (Experience you guys HAVE to make !!! so much food and dive !!!) stopped there around the 16 of december and it’s a pity the visibility was not fantastic conversely to your assessment. It seems that this is often the case over there… No manta, but lots of pelagics hunting (barracudas, thunas, carrangue (??? how to say)) big amounts of yellow fishes. I felt like I was on a TV documentary ! ahah. Very good souvenir
