Simply the best of everything

The Spirit of Freedom was built in 1992 and regularly provides 3, 4 or 7 night dive tours departing from Cairns in the tropical north of Australia.

Spirit of Freedom dive boat review

Spirit of Freedom liveaboard is one of Australia’s most comfortable and well appointed live-aboard dive vessels. With a length of 37 metres, she provides the amenities much like that of a hotel, accompanied by first class meals and outstanding quality service. The spacious air-conditioned cabins can sleep up to a maximum of 26 divers, each with its own bathroom. There is also a large dive deck with Nitrox and photo facilities for everyone to use.

For more info, you can check the Spirit of Freedom Liveaboard schedule here.

Guests comfortably hang out in the lounge bar or in the saloon, which also serves as a dining area, with entertainment facilities like TV, DVD player and a movie library. The only thing you can complain about Spirit of Freedom is its frequent serving of delicious Australian and international food that might affect those who are trying to lose weight! :)

Talented chefs on board serve 2 sets of breakfast, before and after the first dive of the day, plus lunch, dinner and snacks in between. Let’s just say you won’t go hungry!

On board facilities and services review:

  • Motorized dive dinghy
  • Separate rinse tank and table for cameras
  • Open-air dining area
  • Computer & CD burner
  • Satellite phone
  • Books, magazines, games and fish ID books
