MV Belize Aggressor III Liveaboard Review

USA based Aggressor Fleet have a liveaboard offering in the vast majority of the globe’s best scuba diving locations. Belize is one of the smallest nations of Central America with some of the best diving. Probably most famous for the Blue Hole, Belize also features other world class diving destinations such as The Elbow, Long Caye Wall, Silk Cayes Canyon and Stann Creek District where, for some lucky divers, you may spot a Whale Shark in addition to the wealth of other life in Belize’s rich waters. MV Belize Aggressor III is the sister ship of Aggressor Fleet’s MV Belize Aggressor IV and is also built to the stringent Lloyd’s Registry and American Bureau of Shipping standards. She has a whole raft of safety equipment onboard – everything from emergency oxygen to lift rafts – which is reassuringly safe. She is slightly smaller than her sister ship MV Belize Aggressor IV at 110ft/33.5m in length and 22ft/6.7m in beam.

Cabins and Boat Layout

There is plenty of space onboard Belize Aggressor III. She is capable of carrying up to 18 people in comfort.

There are 2 cabin options which break down as follows:

• Deluxe Stateroom – Approximately 8ft x 7ft in size. These cabins feature a double lower bed and upper single bunk style bed. The cabins also feature a port-hole style window, private toilet and shower amenities, media access with TV/DVD in cabin and air-conditioning.
• Master Stateroom – The master staterooms are slightly more spacious at 10ft x 8ft in size. They feature a double bed together with the other common facilties; private toilet and shower amenities, media access with TV/DVD in cabin and air-conditioning.

When not in your cabin you’re free to relax in the air-conditioned indoor salon. While sitting in your soft chair, why not take advantage of the entertainment system and watch a film. Or read a book while waiting for one of your freshly prepared onboard meals; a delicious combination of local and western buffet. Snacks are available throughout the day to nibble on before and after each dive. Soft drinks, tea and coffee and always available too.

There are many charge points onboard for various your various gadgets and cameras and photographers may also make use of the E-6 photo lab onboard.

If you’re more a sun-worshipper than happy snapper, sun loungers and chaise lounges are available. Or, sit in the hut tub!

Diving onboard Belize Aggressor III

As is commonplace on the best Belize liveaboards, support dinghies for safety are on hand. There is a nitrox system that provides gas mixes to qualification and dive site – allowing those qualified to extend bottom time and stay fresh on the many repetitive dives; Belize Aggressor III offers up to an amazing 5 dives a day!

The dive deck is spacious and has rinse tanks to maintain your equipment. The attentive crew of 6 are also always on hand to assist with any logistical requests you may have.

Itineraries

The tour normally departs on Sunday morning and returns Friday evening. The itinerary is usually 7 nights and aims to take in the best diving the area has to offer.
