Find your happy place between dives
The Bahamas are a great destination for scuba diving and snorkeling. Clear turquoise water and fascinating reefs can enhance any vacation. For a more comfortable liveaboard holiday, look past the word “luxury” and compare the features you will actually use: beds, bathrooms, shared spaces and the diving programme.
Start with the boat and cabin comparison. Our Bahamas liveaboard guide connects your choice to the routes, seasons and practical planning.
Aqua Cat: en-suite cabins and space between dives
Aqua Cat has eleven main-deck cabins with private bathrooms, plus a salon, alfresco space and sundeck. Its original review highlighted the flexible layout and room for larger groups. Specify your bed arrangement: an ocean-view cabin at double occupancy is a different product from cabin 11 with skylight and twin bunks.
The published 2026 seven-night ocean-view double rate is USD 3,395 per person plus USD 395 mandatory fees, giving a USD 3,790 cruise subtotal. Optional Nitrox is USD 150. Flights, hotels, transfers, insurance, rentals and tips need a separate budget.
Bahamas Aggressor II: compare the actual cabin category
The current Bahamas Aggressor II tariff distinguishes Twin, Deluxe and Balcony Suite categories. Published 2026 seven-night base fares are USD 3,495, 3,695 and 4,095 respectively. For the seven-night Exumas reference, the operator’s joining guide adds USD 299 port and park fees: known subtotals are USD 3,794 / 3,994 / 4,394. Optional Nitrox adds USD 100. Travel and other extras remain additional. See the cabin-by-cabin budget and sources.
Identity matters: the original Bahamas Aggressor moved to Belize in 2026. Its historical review does not describe Aggressor II’s cabins. View Bahamas Aggressor II dates and cabin options.
Juliet: character and a choice of bathroom arrangements
Juliet offers a schooner experience from Miami, with standard and en-suite categories. Its 2026–2027 six-night Bahamas rates are USD 2,100 and USD 2,300 per person; the current rate page includes the port charge and Nitrox. Nitrox certification is required. Confirm the specific cabin and joining schedule because the operator’s pages differ on some details.
Specialist shark boats: choose them for the expedition
Shear Water and Dolphin Dream can appeal for specialist wildlife programmes, but shared bathrooms and compact cabins in the original descriptions should not be sold as an en-suite luxury promise. Ask for current photographs, dates and a charter quote. Bahamas Master remains a historical reference with current availability unconfirmed in this update.
Questions that make comfort comparable
| Feature | Ask before booking |
|---|---|
| Sleep | Fixed double, twin or bunk? Bed length? Cabin number? Noise and stairs? |
| Bathroom | Private or shared? Is the shower separate? What does your booked category include? |
| Shared space | Shaded outdoor seating, air-conditioned lounge and enough room for your group? |
| Dive deck | Entry method, equipment storage, camera preparation and charging arrangements? |
| Non-divers | Actual snorkeling, shore visits and supervision during the diving day? |
| Service and food | Dietary needs, meals ashore, drinks policy and internet availability? |
A more expensive cabin does not change the weather or guarantee a shark sighting. Match the itinerary to your interests and the diving to your experience first, then choose the comfort level.
Make a fair price comparison
Match the same number of nights and occupancy, then add compulsory fees and the extras you will use. The full-cost comparison separates known subtotals from incomplete quotations. For value-focused choices, see the budget guide.
Comfort FAQ
Which boat has private bathrooms?
Aqua Cat’s cabins are en-suite; Juliet offers an en-suite category. Check the current cabin plan for your chosen Aggressor II category and confirm it on the booking.
Does “luxury” mean all costs are included?
No. Ask about taxes, port charges, Nitrox, equipment, transfers, meals ashore, drinks, insurance and gratuities.
Can I use the old Aggressor cabin pictures to choose Aggressor II?
No. They show a different vessel. Use the current Aggressor II listing and its operator cabin information.
