Kethi Liveaboard Review

The 21.6 meters Kethi is a liveaboard offering scuba diving and surfing cruises in the Maldives. Indeed, the boat was built in 1994, upgraded ever since, and is welcoming divers as a member of the Voyages Maldives Fleet.

Boat Cabins & Layout

The Kethi displays 6 spacious cabins, welcoming a maximum of 10 guests. More specifically, two cabins have double beds plus a top bunk and include an en-suite bathroom. The other cabins have bunk beds and share 1 bathroom. The Kethi proudly boast to be offering a low-noise environment as the engine is said to be quiet.

Kethi’s On-board Facilities

The lower deck is home to all the cabins while the main and upper decks feature spacious communal areas. Indeed, on the main deck you will find an indoor salon with complete entertainment system and media library. There’s also a music sound system and a bar service available on-board.

Furthermore, you will find the best enjoyable space on the outside on both the main and top deck. First, the main deck displays a partially shaded area with a dinner table and booth seating plus a sundeck area towards the bow. Plus, the top deck is soaked in the sun and offers a great spot to capture the best view of the Maldives, day and night!

Vessel Layout

The Kethi, just like it’s many sisterships, offers both scuba diving and surfing cruises. Of course, the boat is equipped with all the required safety and navigation equipment related to both sports. Cruising at a speed of 8 knots, the Kethi is like the average boat of it’s fleet and quite similarly sized. The only bigger boat owned by Voyages Maldives fleet is the Gurahali while the others, alongside Kethi, are smaller: Gahaa, Koimala, Sea Coral, Gulfaam.

Diving with Kethi

The Kethi is assisted by a diving dhoni when scuba diving cruises are booked. Plus, you will benefit from experienced dive guides/instructors during your trip. You will get straight to the action-packed waters and enjoy the clear seas around the Maldivian atolls. Most noteworthy is that the itinerary is fully customizable! Of course, you will be guided and advised by the diving and boat crew in order to get the best itinerary possible. Finally, there’s no space for boredom of the Kethi as other activities are offered such as night fishing, snorkeling, BBQ on desert island, cultural tours, etc.
