Koimala Liveaboard Review

The 22 meters Koimala operates as a scuba diving liveaboard in the Maldives. Built in 1994, the vessel is the second largest of it’s fleet, the Voyages Maldives Fleet.

Boat Cabins & Layout

The Koimala is a sturdy vessel and displays lavish interiors including a total of 6 cabins. First, there are 4 cabins with en-suite bathroom and a double bed. Secondly, the two bunk-bed cabins share two bathrooms, but these are not en-suite.  The Koimala proudly boasts to be among the most comfortable vessel of the fleet, along with the much larger Gurahali.

Koimala’s On-board Facilities

The Koimala features plenty of communal area on both the main and upper deck. Indeed, the main deck displays an indoor lounge with TV/DVD and music system. That’s also where meals are served if eaten indoor. Otherwise, head outside toward the bow and you’ll find an open-air area with dining tables and plenty of space to lounge around.

Furthermore, head upstairs to the top sundeck and you will find all it takes to relax in the sun! Indeed, there are sun loungers and a great view of the Maldives. Plus, it’s the perfect spot to star gaze at night, away from the city lights!

Vessel Layout

The Koimala is slightly bigger than most fellow ships in the Voyages Maldives fleet.  Indeed, the Gahaa, Kethi, Sea Coral and Gulfaam are all smaller, the only bigger one being the Gurahali. Moreover, the Koimala proudly boast to be sturdy and to offer one of the most comfortable ride in the Maldives.

The Maldives have a lot to offer and the Koimala is ready to take you on a great adventure. Indeed, the boat offers both scuba diving and surfing cruises. Most noteworthy is that when you book a scuba diving liveaboard with them, the fleet provides a diving dhoni along with a professional and experienced crew to dive with! Finally, many other activities are possible and you will be advises properly when it comes to designing your own customizable itinerary. Activities include, but are not limited to : snorkeling, night fishing, cultural excursions, etc.
