Step aboard Sea Coral

Sea Coral: what to know before booking
Sea Coral is a small Maldives charter boat with three cabins, suited to groups who prefer a simple vessel to a large liveaboard. Voyages still lists it in its fleet; a specific scuba departure needs a separate quotation.
Sea Coral vessel and refit history
The National Boating Association of Maldives records a 1988 build, 19.5 m length, 5.76 m beam and 9-knot speed. Tourism destination records describe six beds in three cabins. A current major-refit date was not established.
Cabin choices aboard Sea Coral
| Cabin or deck | Booking detail |
|---|---|
| Guest cabins | Three bunk-bed cabins in the earlier vessel description; some lower bunks are doubles. |
| Bathrooms | Two shared shower/toilet rooms were described. Confirm the present arrangement. |
| Comfort trade-off | Ask about ventilation, air-conditioning hours and luggage space before choosing a small charter. |
Life aboard Sea Coral
On the main deck, the action happens outside. By the bow, there’s an open-air and partially shaded area with mats, a table and chairs. At the aft of the main deck is the dining table; the upper deck gives you a broad view of the Maldives.
Diving, itinerary and transfers
Sea Coral is marketed for small surf and dive groups. Choose the activity first, then confirm the route, boarding point, dive guide, compressors, gas supply and tender arrangement. The available fleet page does not establish a fixed current scuba itinerary.
Travelling with a non-diver on Sea Coral?
Confirm a non-diving place directly for Sea Coral and the chosen departure. A current boat-specific acceptance policy and companion fare have not been established here. Ask whether the booking is a shared cruise berth or a whole-yacht charter, and obtain the price for your dates, duration, cabin and occupancy, including taxes and transfers. Skipping dives does not by itself establish a discount.
Request a practical programme for the companion: which guided snorkeling sessions or island excursions are actually planned, whether equipment and guidance are included, and which activities cost extra. Confirm age or supervision conditions where relevant. A diving or surfing charter may leave a non-participating guest aboard for substantial periods; do not assume that a tender, sundeck or an old excursion description guarantees daily outings.
Voyages’ recommended seven-night fleet route, shown for charter planning. Vessel availability, diving equipment and the actual programme must be agreed for Sea Coral. This is not a confirmed scheduled sailing.
Text itinerary: Malé / North Malé → South Malé area → Rasdhoo → Maaya Thila / North Ari → South Ari / Maamigili → Malé / North Malé. The order is illustrative, not a confirmed departure programme. Confirm the boarding point, direction and daily stops with the operator.
The lines connect reference areas; they are not safe sailing tracks. The captain selects channels and sites according to conditions. No wildlife encounter or individual stop is guaranteed.
Dive sites and geographic precision
- Maaya Thila / North Ari: Maaya Thila is named in the fleet’s recommended route. Confirm inclusion for your charter.
- Rasdhoo: Rasdhoo area: the fleet route mentions Rasdhoo Madivaru. Marker uses the island reference, not the exact dive-entry point.

Budget and inclusions
Compare a dated quote for your actual departure and cabin, including currency, nights and occupancy. Ask for the compulsory charges, transfers and diving package as a written total, then add travel, rental equipment and optional spending. Confirm the boarding point and final dive time before arranging flights.
What guests say about Sea Coral
A named traveller, Dawn, describes returning to Sea Coral in a 2017 Flickr trip album and enjoying the company and crew. This is one historical account, not a representative review score or evidence of the current diving operation. Recent vessel-specific feedback remains sparse.

Sea Coral booking FAQ
How many guests fit aboard Sea Coral?
Tourism records list six beds and three cabins. Ask for the current certified charter limit and the actual bed allocation for your group.
Will I have a private bathroom?
The earlier layout describes shared facilities. Get written confirmation if an en-suite bathroom is essential.
Does the boat have a dive dhoni?
Current support-boat provision was not verified. Do not rely on the old claim that a small main vessel makes a dhoni unnecessary.
Is this a luxury liveaboard?
The attraction is a small-group charter with simple shared spaces. Compare the cabin size and bathroom arrangement before choosing it over a larger boat.
Are surfing and diving both included?
Not automatically. Ask for the exact activity package, staffing and equipment; a surf quote is not a scuba package.
