Gulfaam is a five-cabin timber charter boat for Maldives cruising and surfing, with scuba diving available on request through Voyages Maldives. Confirm the activity package first: a cruising charter is not automatically a guided dive safari.
Gulfaam vessel details and history
Built in 1990, Gulfaam is listed with four crew and five bunk cabins. The current specification shows four en-suite cabins and one using shared facilities, replacing the old description that all bathrooms were shared.

Get the bed arrangement, bathroom access and cooling hours confirmed for the cabin you book. For a group charter, agree the allocation before collecting everyone’s payment.
Life aboard Gulfaam
Gulfaam’s main deck is where guests get together and relax. There are social areas inside, but also at the bow and at the very back. The top deck is a sundeck, while the rear dining area offers a place to enjoy freshly prepared dishes and the Maldivian sunset.
Gulfaam itinerary and diving arrangements
Gulfaam’s charter route is tailored to the booking. A smaller group does not guarantee empty dive sites. Ask for the proposed atolls, embarkation and return ports, planned activities and alternatives if weather changes the route.
For a scuba charter, ask the operator to specify the dive support boat, guides, planned dives, equipment, gas options and experience requirements. Confirm your final dive time and onward travel schedule with the dive team.
Travelling with a non-diver on Gulfaam?
Confirm a non-diving place directly for Gulfaam and the chosen departure. A current boat-specific acceptance policy and companion fare have not been established here. Ask whether the booking is a shared cruise berth or a whole-yacht charter, and obtain the price for your dates, duration, cabin and occupancy, including taxes and transfers. Skipping dives does not by itself establish a discount.
Request a practical programme for the companion: which guided snorkeling sessions or island excursions are actually planned, whether equipment and guidance are included, and which activities cost extra. Confirm age or supervision conditions where relevant. A diving or surfing charter may leave a non-participating guest aboard for substantial periods; do not assume that a tender, sundeck or an old excursion description guarantees daily outings.

Request a dated quote in a stated currency, with cabin occupancy and the full group total where relevant. Check meals, drinking water, airport transfers, taxes, activity equipment and gratuities separately; a cruising package and a scuba charter can have different inclusions. Confirm the actual meeting point and boarding time before booking flights.

The current specification lists bunk beds. Do not rely on the old two-double/three-bunk arrangement without written confirmation.
Can Gulfaam combine surfing and scuba diving?
Both are offered on request, but ask whether the proposed route, support boat and staff can deliver your combination on the same charter.
