Truk Master dive boat review
The Truk Master Liveaboard now offers diving cruise to the Truk Lagoon in Micronesia. Indeed, the vessel dating from 1974 and known as the Astral Star has been taken over by the Master Fleet. They had the dive vessel entirely refurbished by the famous Jan and Frank Van der Linde or Worldwide Dive & Sail. The Truk Master is now ready to take you on and incredible diving trip as of 2016!

Boat Cabins & Layout
The new dive boat, the Truk Master, welcomes up to 16 guests on-board. The vessel has 8 lavish cabins, spread over 3 decks. Indeed, there are standard and premium cabins, each with 2 twin beds, on the lower deck. Plus, on the main deck, one of the cabin has a convertible twin to double bed. Finally, on the upper deck there’s is the deluxe double room which has 1 double bed.
Of course, all the cabins are equipped with individually controlled air-conditioning and en-suite bathroom and shower facilities. Plus, cabins are just spacious enough and have great storage space.

Truk Master’s On-board Facilities
The spacious communal areas of the Truk Master will sure impress the guests. Indeed, the main and upper deck are home to a dining room, a massive salon and comfortable outdoor lounging areas.
First, the main deck’s spacious dining room. Offering comfort and plenty of space for the 16 divers to eat altogether and never feel cramped. Also, that’s where you’ll find a great camera charging station with individual guest drawers for storage. Second, the huge salon area, fitted with comfortable couches, coffee tables, footrests and a complete entertainment unit with large flat screen TV. Plus, there’s a fully stocked bar and bar stools, enhancing the lounge atmosphere!

Furthermore, if you step outside, you’ll find just as much great space where to hang out! You’ll find a covered seating area as well as a huge and partially shaded sundeck. Indeed, the sundeck is the perfect spot to sunbathe while you enjoy the view of beautiful Micronesia. Also, get up there at night with your glass of wine, we bet the starry sky is one more thing not to miss!

Vessel Layout
The Truk Master is a proud member of the world-renowned Master Fleet. The dive boat is also one of the rare boat offering diving cruises on Micronesia’s remote Truk Lagoon. Indeed, another boat would be the SS Thorfinn which is a massive 58 meters vessel. The two dive boats could not be more different. The Truk Master is brand new and offer somewhat a luxurious dive cruise while the Thorfinn is older but perhaps more experienced. Come let us know if you try one or the other!
Scuba Diving with the Truk Master
The renowned Master fleet is always upholding it’s reputation with every new vessel and we bet it’s the case this time too! The Truk Master offers every divers and individual kitting up space on the dive deck. There’s also under bench storage for the diving equipment and a center camera table with separate rinse tanks.
The professional crew of the Truk Master will always be nearby if you need a hand. Plus, they will guide you in small groups to discover the many wrecks and coral formations of the Lagoon. Also, we heard it’s a great spot for schooling pelagics…!
