Ari Jaya’s On-board Facilities
The Ari Jaya offers an indoor lounge and dining area, perfect to share meals with friends and family in a warm atmosphere.
The crew of 5 or 6 includes a dedicated chef. Indeed, that may be a budget charter liveaboard but food quality is not to be neglected. Other crew members are the Captain, a mecanic, a room boy and, of course, a dive guide.
.
On the main deck, you’ll find a large outdoor relaxation area. Indeed, the covered sun deck has plenty of mattresses laying around for divers to get together and enjoy great moments.
Finally, if you walk up a few stairs, you’ll find a great sundeck offering an uncut view of Indonesia. Lay on a lounge chair, sip on a drink and enjoy the sunset and unspoiled starry sky of Komodo.

Scuba Diving with the Ari Jaya
The wooden hulled vessel cruised at a speed of 10 knots and features all the navigation and safety features expected. Also, the Ari Jaya is assisted in the diving operation by a tender featuring a double 40 hp Yamaha engine. Indeed, this facilitates access to some dive sites and islands excursions.
You might just run by one of the Ari Jaya’s sisterships, the Pratiwi or the Lalunia. They both offer budget charter diving cruises in Komodo.
The professional dive guide on the trip will take great care of you and your friend. You’ll discover the best sites of Komodo in a unspoiled and uncrowded way. Plus, there are kayak’s on the Ari Jaya, which you can use for a little extra adventure!

We joined the Ari Jaya in Flores for a 4D/3N family trip in June 2016 and it was the highlight of our year! Onboard were 3 mums each with one kid, aged 5-6. Two of us dived and the rest snorkled; the sites generally chosen were appropriate for both, and were stunning. Highlight for me was Batu Bolong, which was mind-blowing. For the kids, it was definitely swimming with the mantas, and countless turtles. The staff were happy to accommodate the snorklers and were wonderful with the kids in the water, keeping a close eye on them in the RIB. They had kayaks to play on, beach walks, the Komodo walk on Rinja, snorkling with mantas, a walk through the village on Komodo and a visit to the local school and a guided walk up to the lookout. They even did a bonfire on a deserted beach for the kids. The kids had as much of a blast on board as they did in the water. The Ari Jaya is simple, but safe and comfortable, with excellent food, comfortable cabins, and fans were sufficient. I highly recommend this company…they were flexible, professional and helpful; a budget boat in name only, as everything was more than sufficient. More info on their website.
