Which cabin would suit your week?

There are eight standard twin cabins on the lower deck, four standard cabins above and one upper-deck suite. All have air-conditioning and a private bathroom. Lower-deck rooms have portholes; the upper cabins have sea views, while the suite adds panoramic windows. The distinction matters if you expect to spend relaxed time in your cabin, rather than simply sleep between dives.

These are dated promotional examples for the seven-night Brothers–Daedalus–Elphinstone departure, checked on 14 October 2026, for a berth in shared accommodation. They show the price difference between categories even where a category is sold out. A whole cabin for one traveller needs a separate quote. If a particular bed arrangement matters, have it confirmed for the allocated cabin before booking.

Life aboard, from breakfast to the last debrief

You will find plenty of space to lounge on Sea Serpent Glory, both indoors and outdoors. The air-conditioned lounge and dining spaces give the group somewhere to gather over a meal, watch a film or compare photographs without staying in the sun. Outside, the two relaxation decks offer cushions and mattresses, with a partially shaded area and an upper-deck bar.

The food combines Egyptian and European cooking, with seafood, baked treats from the onboard pastry chef and fruit available between meals. Meals are served buffet-style, making it easy to build a plate around the next dive rather than a fixed restaurant timetable. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free requests can be discussed in advance; explaining an allergy before departure gives the kitchen time to prepare.

Water, soft drinks, tea and instant coffee are included. Alcohol and Nespresso capsules cost extra. Wi-Fi is offered, but an offshore reef week is better planned around diving than a dependable connection for work. Daily housekeeping, towels and bathrobes help keep the cabin a comfortable dry retreat.

Diving from Glorious Miss Nouran

The spacious dive deck leads down two stairways to the lower platform. Equipment stations, tenders, a camera work area and a separate camera rinse make the change from dry lounge to dive boat straightforward. Nitrox is included for certified divers. Rebreather support and a booster on request are listed, but a technical setup needs arranging before the trip rather than assuming that every gas or consumable is waiting aboard.

The verified November BDE departure requires Advanced Open Water and at least 30 logged dives. That is a departure requirement, not a promise that every dive will feel easy at the minimum experience level. Offshore walls, current and tender entries deserve particular attention when choosing between BDE and a reef-focused southern week. Other routes need their own experience check.

Bring the required computer, SMB, certification and normal complete equipment; a torch is needed for night dives. Rental equipment should be requested at least two weeks ahead. The operator describes safety briefings and drills, oxygen, an AED and ENOS diver-location equipment; this is an equipment and procedure description, not an independent safety certification.

Travelling with a non-diver?

Non-diving companions are welcomed, and snorkelling equipment and a snorkelling guide are listed as optional extras. The shaded seating and lounge offer time out aboard, but water activities depend on the route and daily conditions. Confirm the companion fare and snorkelling arrangements for the chosen sailing; no adult non-diver discount has been verified.

Ten documented itinerary families

The schedule checked on 14 October 2026 covers departures into October 2027. Each family below has a boat-specific dated listing; planned sailings need operational confirmation. All listed examples are seven nights, with the first night normally spent in port. A night in a hotel can replace an onboard night according to the operating schedule.

The map shows selected verified geographic references for each programme, not every dive site or a guaranteed sailing order. The daily descriptions below carry the fuller route context. Port Ghalib is marked as a port area; the exact berth and the Hurghada joining point should come with your transfer instructions. Connections are omitted where a complete sequence has not been established.

What a BDE week can look like

1. Arrive at Port Ghalib and board after 17:00.
2. Coastal check dives in the Marsa Alam area, then an overnight passage to the Brothers.
3. Dive Big Brother, with the overnight stop in the island area.
4. Dive Small Brother before the overnight passage to Daedalus.
5. Dive Daedalus, then sail overnight towards Elphinstone.
6. Dive Elphinstone if conditions allow; a coastal night dive may be possible.
7. Final coastal dives and return to Port Ghalib.
8. Breakfast, disembarkation and transfer.

This is the November departure’s sample plan, not a fixed promise of sites or dive counts. Weather, permissions and the group’s qualifications can change the week. There are no night dives at the marine-park islands. Shark sightings, at Daedalus or elsewhere, are never guaranteed.

Reefs and wrecks to recognise

At the Brothers, the attraction is a combination of exposed walls and wrecks on Big Brother. Daedalus is an isolated reef with a lighthouse; Elphinstone is a narrow reef with walls and plateaus. Further south, St John’s adds pinnacles and passages, while Fury Shoals offers a wider mix of reef formations. Northern weeks bring the wrecks around Abu Nuhas and Thistlegorm into the picture. These are different types of diving, so a familiar boat name should not be the only reason to choose a departure.

Compare the total, not only the headline fare

For the 21 November 2026 BDE example, the lower-deck berth is €1,099 plus €200 in compulsory park fees through the partner, giving €1,299 per person. The direct operator display is €1,299 with those fees included. These are two presentations of the same starting total, not a €200 saving.

The listed package includes accommodation, full-board meals, ordinary non-alcoholic drinks, diving, nitrox, transfers and Wi-Fi. Flights, visa costs where applicable, insurance, equipment hire, courses, alcoholic drinks and gratuities need their own budget. A private dive guide is listed at €450 per week and a nitrox course at €175; confirm the chosen services with the booking quote. Tips are discretionary rather than a compulsory charge.

Arrivals and getting home

Port Ghalib is around 15 minutes from Marsa Alam airport; the road transfer from Hurghada airport is about three hours. Hurghada sailings have a much shorter local airport transfer. The port printed on the departure matters, especially for the one-way BDE week in September 2027. The operator advises allowing 24 hours between the last dive and the flight home; arrange flight times around the confirmed last dive, rather than the longest sample itinerary.
