Gentle Giant dive boat review
The 27 meters Gentle Giant liveaboard offers scuba diving cruises on the Andaman Sea, in Thailand. Thanks to the vessel’s longer itineraries of 5 nights, divers get to explore both the north and south Thaï Andaman Sea in one trip. Renovated in 2017, the MV Gentle Giant operates only a few times (6-7 times) between November and April each year.
The cabins
The Gentle Giant features 10 cabins, welcoming a maximum of 20 divers on-board each trip. The cabins all include air-conditioning and a private bathroom facility. Moreover, you’ll have a sea view window and safety deposit box in each of them as well. Most cabins are twin shared, but 2 are master cabins featuring double beds.

Gentle Giant’s on-board facilities
Indoor, you will find a large salon area with flat screen television and sound system. Most noteworthy is that the outside is definitely the favorite place to hang out! Indeed, that’s where you will find the covered dining area, but also the massive sundeck. As pictured below, the sundeck is not short on space and provides amazing views of Thailand‘s landscape.

Scuba diving with the Gentle Giant
The MV Gentle Giant is among the rare, if not the only, vessel covering the whole coastal Andaman Sea from north to south. Indeed, this allows a cruise during which you will see the Similan Islands, Richelieu Rock, but also Hin Daeng & Muang, the King Cruiser’s wreck and much more.
The dive deck of the MV Gentle Giant is all equipped with the scuba diving essentials. Plus, as the boat was renovated in 2017, you can expect everything to be functional and beyond. The experienced team of scuba diving pros will guide you all week with a ratio of 5 divers maximum per dive guide.
