Ko Bon dive site is very famous, regarded as one of the best spots of the Surin Islands National Matine park. Ko Bon is situated 20 km north of Similan Island number 9 and South of Surin Island. This island also known as ‘The Perforated Island’ offers a great wall dive on the southwest side. The spot consists of a large wall. It is one of the best places in Thailand to see Manta Rays especially from April to May and this is really a magical place! For underwater photographers it is a great place to capture shots of these gentle giants, so don’t forget your wide angle lens! Apart from the Manta Rays, you can also see Leopard Sharks, lots of Moray Eels and Whitetip Reef Sharks as well as all the usual reef fishes of the Andaman Sea. The coral is very beautiful too. The maximum depth is 42 m. This dive site is more suitable for experienced divers. Enjoy this superb Dive Site! It is possible to dive this site on a day trip from Khao Lak or during a liveaboard cruise.
Best time to dive: the ideal period to plan holidays here isOctober to November. Access: from the Shore. See the map of Ko Bon on the right for the exact location.
