The Olympia Maru Wreck is lying in Coron Bay in Palawan near Busuanga Island. Like all the other Japanese ships in the Bay it has been sunk the 24th September 1944 by an US Air Attack.
The Olympia Maru is a former 130m long supply ship which now lies upright at 30m deep. The main deck is around 18m to 24m deep making it a shallow and easy wreck dive. It is also easy to penetrate in the cargo, a perfect location to learn Wreck diving. There are also more complicated penetration opportunities reserved to experienced divers. You can for example swim through the propeller shaft.
The marine life is good with plenty of fishes like the usual Batfishes, Lionfishes or Scorpionfishes. The cute Puffer fish is also common around the Shipwreck. The Olympia Maru is covered with nice hard and soft coral as well as sponges.
It takes about one hour to go there by Banca boat from the Coron Resorts.
You can dive Olympia Maru all year long. Access: from the Shore. See the map of Olympia Maru on the right for the exact location.

Olympia Maru is a WW2 Japanese shipwreck. It would take at least 2 dives to penetrate all the cargo rooms. It’s a great dive site with the ship still intact and it’s rich with marine life.
