Japanese Garden is a shallow and easy diving site in Koh tao. It is used by many of the dive centres for the first diving lessons due to the perfect conditions for beginners with calm water and no current. On the sandy bottom, there are nice coral formations with a good reef life. If you are lucky you might even spot a superb Eagle Ray flying by! Note that it can be crowded during the high season. The maxium depth is 15 meters deep. The Japanese Garden is located on the East side of Koh Nang Yuan.
You can dive Japanese Garden all year long. Access: from the Shore. See the map of Japanese Garden on the right for the exact location.

Diving Reviews for this region
Koh Tao
Diving hub of Thailand to learn how to dive. Cheap and easy diving on a beautiful island.
Yes and this is my 2nd time there. It’s shallow and best for beginners or people who want to try thier skill. There is many hard corals surrounding all area but thiers color don’t look good at all. Almost of them turn to be white or brown. Some colors that still appear there is from Christmas tree worm and tridacna clam and a tons of damsel fish. Luckily, we met a giant porcupine fish and a giant puffer fish.
