Shark Island dive site is one of the best dive spots around Ko Tao. It consists of several rock boulders covered by nice soft coral, gorgonians and sponges. There is a very nice swim-through starting at 20 m deep. You can see there moray eels, nudibranchs, blue spotted sting rays and the beautiful and harmless Leopard Shark. Always be careful to the agressive Titan triggerfish! A Whale Shark is sometimes spotted here. There is usually some current and it gives a good opportunity for drift diving. The maximum depht is 28 meters deep. Shark Island is located 25 km South of Ko Tao. You can also dive there from Koh Samui on a day trip. This spot is also called Red Rock or Sail Rock.
You can dive Shark Island all year long. Access: from the Shore. See the map of Shark Island on the right for the exact location.
