The Petrel is a small cruise ship exploring the Galapagos Islands. The catamaran was built in 2015 and offers year-round luxurious adventure cruises to the Galapagos. The cruise ship offers various itineraries which you can combine if you would like a longer cruise. The trips are usually between 4 to 8 days long and explore multiple islands such as North Seymour, San Cristobal, Santa Cruz and more.
Cabins
The Petrel can cater for 16 passengers, hosting them in 9 cozy cabins. Indeed, the small ship cruise offers a somewhat intimate cruise experience. First, there are 4 cabins on the main deck, including 2 suites and 2 double staterooms. Secondly, the upper deck is home to 4 double cabins as well as 1 single occupancy room.

Moreover, all the cabins are lavishly decorated, and include a private en-suite bathroom. The suites have an extra living room area, as pictured above. That being said, the other cabins all have a work desk, ample storage space and their very own private balcony just out of the door!
Cruise ship features
The main social area of the Petrel is a salon and dining room combine. Indeed, the spacious area takes most of the main deck, and offers a panoramic view over the Galapagos Island‘s landscapes!

Furthermore, it only gets better as you walk up to the sundeck. That’s where you will find a bar as well as dining table and a complete lounge area. The outdoor lounge includes a jacuzzi and plenty of comfortable deck chairs. Also, the area is partially shaded, so you will be confortable to hang there between the day time activities.

The Petrel offers 6 different itineraries, and each explores a different part of the Galapagos Islands. Also, the trip duration varies from 4 days to 8 days.

- 6-day Cruise ‘A’: Isabela & Fernandina Islands

- 4-day Cruise: San Cristobal, Española & Floreana

The different routes have various activities on the schedule depending on the islands they visit. You will always have bilingual naturalist guides with you on-board. They can answer your many questions about the Galapagos Islands, and guide you through amazing adventures. Some itineraries will include a hike on the Sierra Negra Volcano, snorkeling with unique marine creatures, and so much more.
Cruise ship availability
The Petrel runs it’s luxury adventure cruises all year round in the Galapagos Islands. Indeed, the ship departs mostly from Baltra or San Cristobal on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, depending on the route.
