SY Indo Siren is the liveaboard to take if you want an affordable yet enjoyable liveaboard diving experience in Raja Ampat!
SY Indo Siren dive boat review
This liveaboard vessel is a 40 meter long Phinisi vessel, which cruises at a speed of 8 knots. Despite its large size, the vessel will only accommodate up to 16 guests on board. Being affordable does not mean the vessel compromises the quality of service and facilities.
It features air-conditioned cabins with television set and computers. It also offers laundry and massage services on board.
What sets this Papua liveaboard apart is that it offers free scuba equipment set and nitrox for all divers. It also offers free beer in each cabin! Meals are served in the open air dining area located on the main deck of the vessel with a pre-breakfast served before the first dive of the day. Both International and Asian Cuisine are served on board.

Customer Review
“Spending a week on this vessel was extraordinary. I was diving, my wife was not. We both were very happy with our experience. The boat is very spacious and comfortable. There’s a horseshoe shaped dining area so you can eat and have the wonderful view. They offer full board, even soft drinks and beers. In term of wine, we took a special bottle with us to celebrate but, they sell some on board. The food was always good and there was plenty of it. Nice indoor lounge with cozy seating and movies on the TV. Regarding the diving, it’s very well organized. There’s 2 dhoni, a smaller and a bigger and faster one. The crew is friendly and helpful. Dive sites were all incredibly stunning. The weather was good and currents not too bad so it made everything easier and more enjoyable.”

“It was a wonderful dive safari taking us to some of the best dive sites in the world aboard the Indo Siren. The team was very informative, professional, motivated and helpful. Everything on the boat overcame my expectations. The cabins are ridiculously nice and comfortable. I was delighted with the food – and I am the picky kind. The equipment was in good condition, quite recent. Dives were amazing. Raja Ampat definitely honours the reputation it is preceded by. You need to see it to believe it.”

I was originally alone when I had my liveaboard diving in Raja Ampat. However, I never felt alone or lonely during my stay in SY Indo Siren. Before the trip was over, I made lots of friends who eventually became my diving buddies. Thanks to SY Indo Siren’s fantastic crew for making things easy and comfortable!
The relaxing vibe onboard keeps the atmosphere enjoyable. I applaud how abreast and well-versed the crew are regarding the countless marine creatures that dwell in the waters of Raja Ampat and the heart-stopping beauty found in the various dive sites.
I happened to open my logbook the other day to look and reminisce some past diving trips. And I noticed that the itineraries of some other liveaboards were somehow different like most of them skipped or missed some diving spots. Some even failed to find or locate the rarely seen but the most sought-after underwater creatures. What I liked most about SY Indo Siren, particularly about their diving directors, is their canny way of scheduling dives to avoid the crowds. The popular diving sites which are expected to be jam-packed with divers from different nooks of the world, accommodated us and gave us the time to fully immerse ourselves with the mesmerizing beauty underneath the sea.
I congratulate the management of Indo Siren for pertly planning and organizing a splendid liveaboard tour. The staff and diving team of Indo Siren gave an extraordinary service. They assisted us in preparing our diving equipment and also went out of their way to make us feel at ease onboard together with fellow divers. The facilities and amenities in this liveaboard were also incredible! I liked the alfresco eating area that has a suncover. It’s a nice spot to stay while eating your snacks or meal. And oh, eating in SY Indo Siren is like eating in a 5-star restaurant! It was such a gastronomic delight feasting on various local and international dishes! I look forward to the time that I can be on this dive boat again!
Thanks , I have just been searching for info about this topic for a long time and yours is the greatest I have discovered
till now. But, what in regards to the bottom line? Are you certain in regards to the supply?
Amazing experience on this boat that offers two important extras : free nitrox and… Free beers! The Indo Siren is beautifully designed, very ergonomic for divers. Exception made of one thing: getting on the dhoni with all the diving equipment is not the easiest manoeuvre. Otherwise, everything is comfortable and the food is great. Nice crew and nice friends from all over the planet. The underwater world in this area is packed with awesome fish and coral. Unique experience!
Honestly the diving in this area was awesome. The boat itself is a gorgeous, sturdy beauty. Everything they serve on board was of great taste. Cabins and areas are comfortable and spacious. My big turn off is that it seems that the entire crew in smoking cigarettes and that in every outdoor area – which is like the whole enjoyable space on the boat – is a smoking area. If you hate cigarettes just as much as I do, you better find another vessel. That’s too bad for them, they should have a designated smoking area.
we are in a family of three and has 6days in Raja Ampat. Is there any liveboard for just 2 days 1 nights around Raja Ampat. We wants to feel the wonder of Raja Ampat and only for snorkelling only.
Please advice.
Siren acted in poor faith using a bait and switch tactic by using my money as an interest free loan for over 6 months from September 2019 through April 2021 when they clearly had no intent to operate the trip that I booked. I booked a trip in September 2020 on the Indo Siren to Raja Ampat in March of 2021. When booking, Siren offered a 30% discount on the trip and promised to move the date of the trip at the same price paid if it was impacted by COVID-19. Ultimately, I booked this trip knowing there was a chance it would be cancelled or moved, but decided that getting a deal on the trip while helping out Siren during COVID when many of their bookings were cancelled was worthwhile. Siren took many months to determine that the trip would not sail when it was very clear this was unrealistic. When they finally made this determination they refused to refund the funds paid for the trip for multiple months and would not honor the deal they made to move the booking to a future date at the same price. I will never do business with Siren again.
Hello Tyler!
I simply wanted to say thank you for leaving your review here. It definitely will be helpful for our fellow divers jonesing for their next liveaboard. That said, I’m sorry you had a negative experience yet relieved cause you appear to say you’ve got your money back, at least. It is indeed sad to see that not everyone is acting in good faith during this pandemic.
Anyway, on a brighter note, I wish you many incredible dives in the near future! Thank you for reading Divezone!
