4 liveaboard reviews for “WAOW”

  1. It was my second time in Indonesia but my fifth time on a live aboard.

I usually go solo for my live aboard trips as my friends and family are always busy and I plan on getting my ultimate relaxation without thinking about anyone else.

Speaking of relaxation, the WAOW is something I’d put my money on again although a little more expensive than other boats around Komodo because the boat and the team reflects generosity in taking care of their guests. They would only take in 18 guests at most, to ensure that everybody gets the needed assistance and attention.

The boat was also extraordinary. The upper deck was very spacious and had comfortable chairs. My room was air-conditioned with a private bath. It was also well-kept. My mattress was soft and had no bed bugs in it. Sleep is very important for me during a vacation as it means that I could have my energy back for the activities of the next day.

There was also an onboard saloon that was also air-conditioned and had a TV and a movie sound system. It was great for the evening after we all ate and the divers can just share a long our experiences over some drinks and beer.

The boat also provides a photography room and my dive around Komodo yielded pictures of sharks, wrasse, dog-tooth tuna, corals, worms, mackerel, barracudas, manta rays, turtles, lion fishes, stone fishes and wandering octopuses.

  3. I was on a recent trip on Waow 5 Star liveaboard. The boat is made to a very high standerd very comfortable. The boat itself is 5 star I cannot say anything concerning that. The staff on the other hand are not of a 5 star quality. They sell their Waow boat as a 5 star service. The local staff are freindly enough but the western staff seem like they cannot be bothered to talk to you all they do is sit down at dinner with you have some small talk and thats all that you hear from them all day. Not once was I asked how was my diving is the room ok nothing. No attention to guests. I dont need them to bow down to me but when you are sold a trip of 5 star service a simple hello how are you today would have been nice. A smile does not cost anything. The price I paid I would spend it on other boats in Indonesia and at least I would have a smile. Need to work on your customer relations.

  4. The WAOW is a good, large boat with a wonderful crew and very good food. It does have some problems however. We were in suite 3 and during a small rough patch it leaked badly soaking some of out clothing. The boat was not full so we were able to move to room 2. Room 2 had some electrical problems. The nitrox system also failed. The camera room is only large enough to accomodate 6-7 serious camera or video buffs. The owner was on this trip. He was a real piece of work (not in a good way). There are other boats that are just as good or better at a much better price. If you charge for 5 stars you should be able to deliver it. This was not the case. Shop around.
