Nautilus Two vessel and booking details

Nautilus Two was built in the Maldives in 2007 and renovated in 2022, according to its operator. The 43 m wooden vessel accommodates 24 guests in 12 cabins. Its character comes from traditional wood construction, generous communal spaces, a hot tub and a separate diving dhoni. The operator lists an ENOS diver-location system; this does not remove the need to follow the dive briefing.

Which cabin should you book?

Deck Cabin choice What to check
Current booking choices Spacious double-plus-single cabins Confirm room number, beds, occupancy and deck in your written quote.

Cabins have air-conditioning and private bathrooms. Specify whether you need separate beds, a double, a view or sole occupancy; a category name alone does not settle those details.

Life aboard Nautilus Two

Nautilus Two’s wooden interior has a memorable centrepiece: a five-metre former fishing dhoni used as the buffet table in the dining saloon. Outside, the shaded bow and jacuzzi offer an alternative to the large sundeck. Diving equipment and compressors are carried on the separate Dhe Kaffi dhoni, leaving the main boat’s communal spaces for relaxing.

Food and the onboard bar

The buffet combines Maldivian specialities and European cooking. The bar lists draught beer, wines and spirits. Confirm the drinks bill and any dietary requirements in advance; do not assume a full-board fare includes everything behind the bar.

The 43 meters Nautilus Two is a liveaboard offering scuba diving cruises in the Maldives. The wooden ship was built in 2007 in the Maldives and fitted with modern equipment. The Nautilus Two’s itineraries are following the seasons but are mostly in Central Maldives, around Male and Ari atolls. The Nautilus Two can welcome up to 24 divers on-board while journeying through the Maldivian atolls. Indeed, with 12 comfortable cabins and plenty of social areas, the dive boat promises a memorable cruise. The Nautilus Two proudly boasts to have the largest liveaboard cabins in the Maldives with average size of 20 square meters. Moreover, the cabins feature both a double bed and a single berth as well as a private en-suite bathroom.

Travelling with a non-diver on Nautilus Two?

Acceptance and activities: Nautilus Two explicitly welcomes snorkellers. When a dive site is unsuitable, its operator describes using a dinghy to reach a nearby reef, subject to local conditions. A local snorkeling guide can be requested; confirm whether guidance, equipment and any excursion are included or paid. The operator recommends bringing your own snorkeling gear. Relaxation aboard is also part of the trip.

Non-diver price: the non-diver fare and any discount need to be confirmed for your departure. Request a written quote for your dates, cruise length, cabin and occupancy, stating currency, taxes, transfers and activity extras. Do not assume that unused dives are refunded.

Diving, routes and experience

The listing recommends 40 logged dives and deep-diving experience. Check Nitrox and the precise route requirements.

Check the itinerary attached to your departure. Malé–Malé routes avoid the domestic-flight logistics of many southern trips. Currents can change the site order and wildlife sightings are never guaranteed. See the Maldives diving guide for seasons and atolls.

Get the minimum logged dives, certification, required equipment and no-fly interval in writing from the operator. A statement that a boat welcomes beginners does not mean every route or dive is suitable for them.

Example circuit: Malé → South Malé → Vaavu → South Ari → North Ari → Rasdhoo → Malé. Operators vary the order and select sites according to the departure, weather and currents.

  • Maaya Thila, North Ari: a reef pinnacle; conditions affect dive planning.
  • Alimatha, Vaavu: the island marker locates the surrounding night-diving area, not an exact entry point.
  • South Ari: the Maamigili marker locates the wider whale-shark area; encounters are not guaranteed.
  • Rasdhoo: an atoll reference for the surrounding reefs, not a promised stop.

Most central itineraries use Malé-area boarding and return. Check the actual meeting point and airport transfer; southern one-way departures may require domestic flights.

Route context: Emperor Best of Maldives and Carpe Diem Central Atolls. Geographic references: Malé / North Malé, South Malé area, Vaavu / Alimatha, South Ari / Maamigili, Maaya Thila / North Ari, Rasdhoo.

Budget, inclusions and extras

Current departure listings were checked on 6 October 2026. Obtain a cabin-level quote for your dates. Compare currency, nights, shared or private occupancy, taxes, fuel and service charges before choosing.

Budget line Before paying
Cruise Match dates, nights, cabin, currency and occupancy.
Mandatory extras Ask for taxes, fuel/service charges, park fees and compulsory transfers as a written total.
Diving extras Check Nitrox, rentals, larger tanks, courses and private guiding.
Travel Add international flights, any domestic flights, hotels, insurance and optional spending.

Request a written shared-berth or sole-occupancy quote. Availability in a double cabin does not establish the price for one guest.

Do not compare headline prices as final totals. Until every compulsory charge is confirmed for the same departure, the all-in comparison remains incomplete. Use our budget guide and travel guide to build the rest of the trip.

What guests say about Nautilus Two

Space and food recur in the LiveAboard.com accounts, with different guests noticing different ways to unwind.

Matthias C — 17 September 2026: Matthias appreciated the roomy deck and dry charging/storage space, with wet gear kept on the dhoni. He also described a beach barbecue with shelter that proved useful in rain. Those practical details may matter as much as cabin size on a longer trip.

Nina S — 13 August 2024: On a northern trip, Nina enjoyed spacious accommodation, local-speciality evenings and meals both aboard and ashore. Her account supports the appeal of varied dining, while excursions and menus remain departure-dependent.

Remi C — 29 June 2024: Remi praised the cabins, food and housekeeping, while saying the diving fell short of his unusually high expectations. Comfortable accommodation and satisfying wildlife encounters are separate parts of a cruise.

Nautilus Two: questions before booking

When was Nautilus Two refurbished?

The operator records construction in 2007 and renovation in 2022. Ask whether later work affects the cabin you are booking.

Is Nitrox free on Nautilus Two?

Do not assume so. The operator publishes a paid Nitrox package and separate per-fill pricing. Confirm the current price and tax treatment for your cruise.

What makes Nautilus Two different from a modern motor yacht?

Its traditional wooden construction, twelve cabins and spacious social areas give it a distinctive character. The separate dhoni keeps the diving operation off the accommodation decks.

Does the ENOS system replace a DSMB or briefing?

No. The listed location system is an additional measure. Follow the operator’s equipment requirements, surface procedures and briefing.
