Akomo Isseki Liveaboard Review

The Akomo Isseki is a traditional Indonesian Phinisi liveaboard taking you to discover Komodo and Raja Ampat. Indeed, the 27 meters traditional boat was built in 2018, all wood crafted, and has been sailing and diving in Indonesia ever since.

The cabins

The Akomo Isseki welcomes up to 8 guests on-board each scuba diving cruise. Indeed, the boat offers 4 cabins, all double occupancy rooms featuring twin beds. The cabins are fan only and have portholes. Also, the bathrooms are shared between the guests. You will find luggage storage space, hanging bars, and hooks to organize your stuff in the room.

Akomo Isseki’s On-board Facilities

The Akomo Isseki’s outside decks take the full of the 6 meters beam, thus plenty of space to lounges around. You will find bean bags and hammocks on the partially shaded sundeck. Of course, the views over Komodo and Raja Ampat with be plenty, wherever you are on the boat. Plus, the indoor dining area features a massive table that is elevated and surrounded by windows.

When it comes to food, the cooks will prepare a mix of western and Indonesian meals. They will also cater to specific dietary restrictions if you have any, simply tell them when booking.

Scuba diving with the Akomo Isseki

The Akomo Isseki features a complete dive deck, where you will find plenty of space to gear on before jumping in the deep blue. Indeed, there’s ample storage space, individual stations, and a camera setup area as well. The dive deck is shaded and you will enter the water either through the dive platform at the back or from one of the tenders when needed to get closer to the dive site.

Plus, if diving in Komodo and Raja Ampat is already something special, the crew of the Akomo Isseki proudly boasts to go extra lengths to dive off the beaten path.
