Honors Legacy dive boat review
The MV Honors Legacy was specially designed by renowned local marine architects Offshore Architectures of Alifushi Islands in 2012 to cater for 18-22 guests to a very high international standard.
Purpose built for incredible diving expeditions, the wooden hull (Tholan timber) gives way to a fully lined and polished fiberglass upper hull and living areas constructed with Kapur timber. Immaculately designed and decorated, the outdoor decks are all teak laid and the indoor ceilings have its own Italian padding.
The Honors Legacy yacht is slightly less in length than some of it’s competitors, at just under 34m long (as opposed to, for example, the 47m of the Maldives Crown). It has a beam of 9m and cruises at 12 knots.
Don’t, however, think that being a bit smaller than some it’s competitors means that the facilities are equally scaled-down. The safety and facilities of the boat are top-notch and it has all of the necessary safety equipment, navigation and communication aids you would expect for a boat of this calibre.

Cabins layout
In total the vessel has 8 cabins and 6 ‘staterooms’ (12sq.m), along with 2 ‘Ocean View Suites’ (20sq.m). These include double, twin or triple bedroom suites, complete with a jacuzzi on board on the bridge deck.
Naturally for a vessel of this class, every cabin is air-conditioned. And even the most modest cabins come with en-suite bathrooms with hot water showers, mini bar, safes for your belongings and high definition TV with DVD players.
The vessel has 4 decks with ample space for those non-diving moments. Honors Legacy has a lounge deck with air-conditioned saloon, restaurant and bar. For those looking to relax, look no further! The sun deck has its own bar, jacuzzi and sun loungers. The yacht also features a spa which offers both indoor and outdoor treatments for your total relaxation. Wireless internet access is available for those people who want to stay connected for business or pleasure.
The diving is, as expected on a Maldives itinerary, carried out from a bespoke ‘diving dhoni’ which is 55ft long and equipped with a 50hp outboard engine. The boat also features 3 coltri-sub compressors to ensure the scuba tanks are always full and ready to go!
All in all, the vessel has 13 wonderful staff members on board to cater to your every need.
In terms of pricing, this will depend on your cabin choice and itinerary. However, an appropriate budget for a weeks diving excursion on this boat is around USD2,200-3,500.

one of the best liveaboard in the Maldives.
Celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary with my wife, kids, their partners and close diving buddies, a group of 12 in Maldives with the MV Honors Legacy. Travelling in a bunch was a good time since we were a mix of divers and non divers. Two out of the four women were non-divers but still had a great time on board. There were facilities on board that kept them entertained such like karaoke, the mini bar and restaurant and the Jacuzzi. We also had some time going around resorts and they have enjoyed eating gourmet dishes served by the yacht’s chef, snorkeling, sun tanning, fishing and shark/whale watching.
Maldives is a good destination for those looking for a very relaxing environment as there the accommodation and food are well in-line with international standards. I, myself have been into several liveaboards and diving around the Maldives is for recreational purposes unlike the complexity of the dives in Rajah Ampat or Southern Komodo.
Our group had a great time diving with reef sharks, swimming with turtles, grey sharks, barracudas, yellow-fin tuna, king fish, and eagle rays. The Honors Legacy crew was always there to help us go around our businesses.
We’ve spent my girlfriend’s birthday in the Maldives and it was fun. We got ourselves some tickets and booked the Honors Legacy. They picked us up at the airportin Male.
We have been amazed by the underwater beauty! Reefs lined with soft corals, fan corals, fishes and Nemo… and sharks and tuna. The Tunas swam so close it was hard to resist not to swim and chase after them.
We had some night fishing going and my girlfriend caught a barracuda while I caught an itsy bitsy snapper. She was laughing at me all night. She loved it.
The cuisine was also good with a buffet including fresh fruits and vegatables all day long with other salads, as well as meat and fresh prawns.
