Blue Planet 1: a small-group Red Sea boat, with availability to confirm
No future departure is currently verified for Blue Planet 1. Its appeal was a small-group week in the northern Red Sea, with eight cabins and plenty of outdoor seating between dives. Current operation and booking arrangements still need confirmation.
The absence of listed trips does not establish permanent retirement. The programmes below describe its earlier offering, rather than a current sailing calendar. Written confirmation of the vessel, operator, dates and complete price is therefore essential before arranging travel.

The previously advertised eight-cabin layout
Blue Planet 1 was advertised for fifteen guests in eight cabins, giving the original review its small-group focus. The retained layout places six cabins on the lower deck and two above, with en-suite bathrooms, air-conditioning and storage. Published capacity is inconsistent: the usual trip description says fifteen guests, while the technical table lists sixteen. Built in 1999, with a documented 2013 refurbishment, the vessel measures 27 metres by 7 metres in the retained partner specification. These are reference details rather than a newly verified operating specification.
| Archived category | Number | What to reconfirm |
|---|---|---|
| Lower-deck twin | 6 | Current bed configuration, photographs and cabin condition. |
| Upper-deck cabin | 2 | Exact bedding: retained seller descriptions differ. |
The lower twins are the clearer choice on the retained layout. Upper-deck bedding needs clarification: one seller describes twins, another a larger bed with a bunk above.
A small-group boat with indoor and outdoor social areas
Blue Planet 1 has many social areas, both indoor and outdoor. The documented layout includes an air-conditioned salon and dining room, a covered outdoor sitting area and two sunbathing spaces. Cushioned seating gave guests places to gather after a dive or settle down with a book. The shaded seating and sunny decks give the social spaces different moods, rather than keeping everyone indoors between dives.
Its dive deck was described with individual equipment storage, charging points and showers beside the platform. The original package included three meals a day, snacks, bottled water, soft drinks, tea and coffee. Those inclusions need to appear in any new quotation, alongside the terms for Nitrox, rentals and internet.

Historical northern programmes, not a current sailing calendar
Retained seller descriptions name North & Wrecks, North & Brothers and North & Tiran from Hurghada. No dated departure was verified during this update. The old reference to a three-night mini-safari is therefore not presented as a current offer.
| Historical programme | Reference area | Current booking position |
|---|---|---|
| North & Wrecks | Abu Nuhas, Thistlegorm and Ras Mohammed among the retained sample stops. | No dated departure verified. |
| North & Brothers | Northern diving combined with the Brothers. | No dated departure or daily sequence verified. |
| North & Tiran | Northern diving extended towards the Strait of Tiran. | No dated departure or daily sequence verified. |
For a proposed trip, ask for the exact port, duration, dive sites, experience requirements and route charges. An old list of destinations is not a promise that all those places will be visited.
Historical itinerary references
The numbered northern example follows a retained seven-night programme: Hurghada → Shaab El Erg → Abu Nuhas → Gubal → Ras Mohammed → Gubal or Abu Nuhas → Shaab El Erg → Hurghada. The return-day alternative is simplified to Gubal on the line. Thistlegorm is named in the programme overview but absent from its daily table, so it appears only on the separate site map. Connections are indicative, not navigational tracks or guaranteed stops.
The Brothers and Tiran layers identify the named offshore areas only; their full daily sequences are not established. None of these layers represents a verified future departure. Hurghada is a port-area reference, and reef or island pins do not identify moorings.
Reefs and wreck areas mentioned in the earlier programmes
Shaab El Erg offers reef diving north of Hurghada; Abu Nuhas and Gubal are the named wreck areas. Ras Mohammed is represented by Shark and Yolanda Reef, and Thistlegorm has its own wreck reference. The Brothers and the four principal Tiran reefs are geographic context for the two other historical programmes, not confirmed individual stops.
Historical programme references checked 24 October 2026; geography from CDWS and the destination research record. Weather, permits and the actual departure programme determine access.
Budgeting for a proposed departure
No dated future fare is currently verified for Blue Planet 1. A quotation for the actual cabin and departure is needed before comparing its total cost with another boat.
A useful quotation names the boat, departure, cabin and occupancy, and separates accommodation and diving from park, port and fuel charges, transfers, equipment, Nitrox, courses and personal extras. Cancellation and boat-substitution terms also matter while availability remains uncertain.

What earlier guests appreciated
What guests loved
In his October 2016 Divezone comment, Justin Mathieson recalled a May North & Wrecks trip with friends. He particularly appreciated the service, comfortable beds and sociable group, and said the wreck-focused programme matched his interests.
Enrique D’s May 2019 account describes a North & Tiran week. He praised guide Ashraf’s map-supported briefings and explanations of conditions, along with varied meals and the crew’s helpfulness. These are impressions from those sailings, not a description of the present crew. Both original comments remain below.
What could be better
Neither of these two Divezone comments reports a specific shortcoming. This small, older sample cannot establish present condition or represent every guest; it should not be read as evidence that the boat has no drawbacks.
When another boat might suit you better
If your dates are fixed, choose from boats with a confirmed departure and a clear current quotation. Blue Planet 1’s earlier small-group appeal is useful background, but it is not enough to plan flights around.
Blue Planet 1: current booking questions
Is Blue Planet 1 currently available to book?
The two checked sellers displayed no trips or online availability on 24 October 2026. Contact the operator or seller for written confirmation before making plans.
Has the boat permanently stopped operating?
That has not been established. No online availability and omission from a current fleet list are not proof of permanent retirement.
How were the eight cabins arranged?
Six lower-deck cabins and two upper-deck cabins were advertised, with private bathrooms and air-conditioning. The upper-deck bed arrangement and current guest limit remain to be confirmed.
Where did the northern trips start?
The retained programme used Hurghada, with boarding the evening before departure and airport or local-hotel transfers. A new booking needs its own confirmed marina and pickup arrangements.
Is Nitrox included?
The retained sellers disagree about whether Nitrox is included or charged separately. The departure quotation should settle this before booking; earlier package details are not a reliable present-day guarantee.
Are the old prices still valid?
No current dated quotation was verified; the earlier prices should not be used as a trip budget.
Does the video show the present layout?
The video shows an earlier period of the boat. A current deck plan and cabin photographs would help establish the arrangements for any newly offered departure.
Which routes did the boat advertise?
Northern wrecks, North & Brothers and North & Tiran from Hurghada appear in retained descriptions. These are historical programmes, not a confirmed current schedule.

Great review here! You sum up the essential quite fairly! I did North & Wrecks with friends in May and it’s been great. The service is exceptional, it was a much welcome stress free week. Personally I’m much into wrecks so I loved discovering the wrecks of the Red Sea. Our group was fun and we all got along well. The beds and comfy and there’s plenty to enjoy on-board. I might try their newer vessel for a change next time but otherwise I would not hesitate to head back with the Blue Planet 1! Justin
Awesome dive trip
We dived with Blue Planet 1, dive guide Ashraf, North and Tiran route, we had a fantastic time, every body from the staff is very friendly and trying to help you, safety is a priority, and Ashraf is very professional yet approachable, always with a smile, he gave great dive briefings, supported with maps and photos, precise info about conditions and suggested alternatives dive plans to accommodate different interest and levels of experience, he guided the majority of the dives for the divers that preferred been guided, fluent in English, German and Arabic, and vast knowledge of the local reefs and wrecks. The food was fantastic, Chef Omar not only cooked varied and delicious food but the presentation was amazing. It was a lot of fun and for us, diving with wild dolphins for first time (and 2nd and 3rd). Very comfortable and spacious boat. Captain Hamada, has a vast knowledge of the local reefs, always found protected reef to dive even in the windiest days. Highly recommended
