MY Independence II dive boat review
The 40 meters M/Y Independence II is a liveaboard sailing on the Egyptian Red Sea. Built in 2007, the ship is operated by a German company, the BlueWater Safari Fleet, and offers scuba diving cruises year long on the warm and clear waters of the Red Sea.

Boat Cabins & Layout
The dive vessel can welcome up to 20 guest on each voyage. Indeed, with 10 well- appointed cabins, every guest can expect to find comfort and peace of mind on-board. The Independence II has spacious cabins which feature either twin-beds (6) or a double bed (4). Each cabin features individually controlled air-conditioning as well as a private en-suite bathroom. Most noteworthy is the size of the bathrooms, they are huge in comparison to usual boat bathrooms. Also, you’ll find complimentary items in each room like bathrobes, towels, etc.

MY Independence’s on-board facilities
The interior of the motor yacht is beautifully designed with a spacious dining room, a cozy salon and plenty of space to hang around. The dining room, as pictured below, is set up in a restaurant-like layout and that’s where you will enjoy the freshly cooked buffet dishes.

As you step outside, it only gets better. Indeed, you’ll find plenty of lounging space on each of the decks. First, the upper deck has a lounging space to enjoy both the sun and the view from the bow. Plus, there’s a partially shaded sundeck at the aft, overlooking the platform, where you’ll find cushioned seating and tables. Also, that’s where the bar is located; you can get refreshments, tea and coffee during the day and a glass of wine, a beer or a drink at night. Moreover, the very top deck is a huge salon-like sun-deck. Indeed, you will enjoy this area for the breathtaking view over the Red Sea, for sunbathing or to read a book in a shaded spot.

Vessel Layout
The Independence II is a stable motor yacht spreading over 4 decks total. The lavish and modern design while please the most discerning guests as every area, in and out, was well thought and made with space and comfort in mind.

Diving with the MY Independence II
The dive deck is spacious and features everything a diver might need. The boat as a separate diving dhoni when needed but otherwise the action takes place on the extensive platform at the back. Most noteworthy is that the Nitrox is not only available on-board but it’s also free of charges!
